I made these DIY Halloween crackers because why should Christmas have all the fun?! I’ve started to have an annual Halloween dinner where some girlfriends come over and we have a spooky time. I thought these Halloween themed crackers would be a perfect addition to the party.
I’ve been wanting to make these for awhile, Christmas crackers always have the worst gifts in them. They are cheap and often go in the garbage immediately. The great thing about making your own crackers, Halloween or otherwise, is you can customize them. You can make the colour and theme on the outside whatever you wish. The gifts you include are also up to you.

Spooky Cracker Instructions
- Place the paper wrong side up. Trace lines on either side of the toilet paper roll. You’ll measure 2cm on either side and draw 1cm intervals.
- Roll paper so it overlaps on the toiler paper roll. Cut off excess.
- Fold along all six lines. Fold so the crease forms a pocket.
- Cut triangles along the crease on either side. Try to stay in between the lines you drew.
- Glue toilet paper roll to paper. Roll it tight and glue the edge flush. You’ll also have to glue the end flaps.
- Put snap through cracker and glue it down on either end to the paper. Cut off excess.
- Tie ribbon on one side of the tube.
- Put gifts inside, wrap in tissue paper if you wish.
- Tie ribbon on other side of the tube.
- Curl ribbons and add any other decoration.
Another Halloween themed element to my dinner were these monster brownies. I iced brownies in three different icing colours and added the googly eyes. What do you do for your Halloween dinners?
