The Neon Museum in Las Vegas: How to Visit

How To Visit The Neon Museum in Las Vegas

A visit to the Neon Museum in Las Vegas was a highlight of my trip. I suggest you make the time for it if visiting. I was in the city for a work conference and luckily during break I was able to reunite with a friend I haven’t seen in-person in eight years! This outdoor museum is away from the strip and thankfully my friends picked me and we drove there. It would have been a bit of a trek without a car.

Las Vegas’ the Neon Museum is essentially a graveyard for the old Las Vegas neon signs. Some still had lights, most were decommissioned and didn’t light up. There were plaques giving a little bit of history about each sign, where they were from and how long they stood. It was a different kind of museum, but I still feel like I learned a bit – I always want to learn something when I travel.

It was definitely a place for Instagram photos and there were at lease two couples having engagement photoshoots done there. If I were to have a spontaneous Vegas wedding I would definitely visit the Neon Museum in Las Vegas for a bridal photoshoot. Being two BFFs I’d recommend it for some solo shots or girls trip photographs. I think we went at the perfect time as it was golden hour – just bright enough to have light but dark enough that some of the lights shone. You don’t need long at the museum depending how slow you are at taking the perfect shot.

Tim Burton Neon Signs

In addition to the old Vegas signs they had a few signs from movies. If you know me, you know I appreciate Tim Burton and love the movie Beetlejuice. I am obsessed with all things Halloween, so much so I throw a Halloween Dinner Party every year. Both these signs were Burton’s creations, so I had a fangirl moment. I was pretty excited to see the Betelgeuse one!
