I live in a condo townhouse in Toronto, ON and I’ve always hated the beige dividing wall between myself and my neighbour. I’ve wanted to do this condo patio makeover for years; but wasn’t sure what to do. It took so long because finding a colourful, four-chair, metal set with a table is difficult. See video and step-by-step instructions below.
What makes the condo patio makeover are the fake leaf trellis’ on the wall. I searched the internet for them and found them at Rona – they were a bit of a splurge. They unfold to a bigger size depending on how you expand them. However, going vertically they would collapse if I didn’t hold them up. It took a bit of trouble-shooting to get them to stay up. I tied them to the columns of the dividing wall and hopefully they don’t fall. See photos and video of the transformation.
Patio Before
This is the before without any decoration and my garden wasn’t as full.
Patio Supplies
I think you’ll notice the pineapple theme throughout the patio. The lights, lantern, rug, centrepiece. It makes me so happy! These are the supplies I used to bring my patio to life:
- Wall – 2 leaf trellis (Rona)
- Pineapple lights (Amazon)
- Pineapple rug (from HomeSense)
- Pineapple Centrepiece (from HomeSense) – I have a candle inside this
- Patio Set (Urban Barn)
- Yellow Pillows (WayFair)
- Pineapple mason jar lanterns and more lights (Dollarama)
- Lots of flowers for the garden
Patio Makeover After
I expanded the trellis to cover the maximum width and height, around 3ft wide and 6ft tall.. Secure with strong wire twine on either end. I draped the pineapple lights and secured using zip ties that came with the trellis. The rug was too large for the space so I folded the ends in so it was smaller. I arranged the patio set and tied the pillows to the chairs. The pineapple centre piece has a candle I put inside. The mason jar pineapple lanterns are solar powered and are the perfect dollar store find. I think my condo patio makeover turned my little spot into an oasis. I can’t wait to drink girly wine on it.
You can’t see my front door in these photos but it has a $15 DIY Floral Wreath I created that gives more colour to the space.
I’ve been following your blog for some time now, and I’m consistently blown away by the quality of your content. Your ability to tackle complex topics with ease is truly admirable.
