This easy paper Halloween banner came about because in my decorating I didn’t think I had enough spirit. I looked around the room and felt something was missing. But I didn’t want to buy anything more – I much rather DIY and I always spend too much money during October.
I had bought a black and purple themed spooky scrapbook pack for my DIY Halloween crackers. I had so much extra paper that I should use up. Since the paper is so pretty (although creepy) I figured it would be easy to make something from it. This entire easy paper Halloween banner cost approximately ONE DOLLAR!
Also does anyone else annually watch Nightmare Before Christmas as soon as October arrives?
Supplies
- Scrapbook paper
- glue gun
- string, ribbon or cord
The scrapbook paper I chose was ideal for this craft and made it even easier to complete. The paper was already in perfect rectangles. I did trace and cut out a few additional rectangles from normal purple scrapbook paper to complete the pattern.
Banner Instructions
- Cut scrapbook paper per the rectangles
- Cut additional rectangles in other colours if needed
- Decide on a pattern – I generally alternated purple and black pieces
- Glue paper to string in even spaces
- Make as long as you require
- Hang and admire
The additional decorations the “BOO” was from Michael’s and the orange spiders were from the dollar store. The decorations are essential if like me you hold a Halloween Dinner. If you like Halloween I also have a playlist of my DIYs on my YouTube channel – be my friend!
I’ve been following your blog for some time now, and I’m consistently blown away by the quality of your content. Your ability to tackle complex topics with ease is truly admirable.
