My Tokidoki Barbie costume was done in 2023 given Barbie was everywhere. This is one of my favourite Barbies in my collection and I always wanted to recreate her look. If I was going to be a Barbie for Halloween, I needed to be an atypical Barbie, so she was perfect.
I made the skirt and the donut ears (like Mickey ears) and bought the wig and sparkly corset.

Tokidoki Skirt Supplies & Instructions
Luckily I found the perfect amount of Tokidoki fabric to make the skirt, I had literally just enough. For the skirt measure your waist and allow for some seem allowance (approximately an inch to an inch and a half extra). Cut out a rectangle per your waist measurements and your desired width. The strip will be folded in half for the waistband. Make the skirt fabric at least double this. I used the same technique I did in my Princess Peach Costume.

Tokidoki Donut Ears

Supplies
- headband
- Felt (various colours)
- Glue gun
- Cardboard
- Cotton batting
- Polymer clay
- Paper
Directions
- Make a donut template on paper
- Trace it and cut out four pieces of cardboard
- Cut four pieces of the light brown felt bigger than the template
- Glue cotton to cardboard pieces and put felt over top. You’ll have to cut slits on the rounded sides and in the hole to make it fit.
- Now you’ll have four half donuts. Glue the matching halves together to have two.
- Put a strip of felt in between the two seams to hide them. Glue donuts to headband in appropriate place.
- Make a template for the icing and trace this template on the felt colours. Glue in centre of the donut.
- Decorate the donut with ‘sprinkles’ made of felt and polymer clay.
