Pink Floral Bridal Shower

DIY Pink and Flower Bridal Shower
Pink and floral dessert table

My beautiful little sister is getting married! Which means it is time to throw a fancy party and create a Pink Floral Bridal Shower. The most important things to her are lots of flowers and a fabulous dessert table. Given weddings are expensive, I tried to save money where I could by making a DIY or thrifting, or a combination of the two. I used a combination of my own dishes and thrifted items for the display. I also did find some decor from Amazon – given the time it takes to DIY sometimes buying is better. See video, pictures and instructions below.

I created a few fun stations to bring the shower to life:

  1. Dessert Table
  2. Mimoso Bar
  3. Polaroid Guestbook
  4. Let Love Grow Favours

For the table I focused on creating different levels and using various colours of pink, white, silver and gold. Most of the dishes I used were white or were pink with flowers. I put the cake in the centre and donut bar and candy bar on either side for balance. To see detailed steps to create a DIY Donut Bar see my previous post. Besides that I filled in the space randomly. Some details you may not have noticed are:

  • The lollipops have dried roses in them and are in flower pots
  • The cake had fresh flowers on it (to go with floral theme)
  • I used a white crate to give the candy bar more levels
  • Printed my own “Love is Sweet Take a Treat” sign

Thrifted Decor Items

Love is sweet, take a treat

To buy fancy glass jars for candy can be expensive especially if they are big. I’ve seen them at Michael’s for $30 and upwards. I could not spend that much on a jar I’d use once. So I went to the thrift store and found:

  • 3 big glass containers: fishbowl, vase, grand mariner glass
  • XOXO sign that was an ugly pink
  • Fancy white plate (not pictured)

These five items cost $20 which I think is cheaper than I would have found new. The XOXO sign was perfect for a bridal shower. But It was an ugly pink and a bit beat up, although it was from Bouclair, a design store. Using the below Instructions I revamped the XOXO sign to to fit the theme.

Sparkle XOXO Supplies

  • Krylon adhesive spray
  • Silver sparkle
  • Sealant

Instructions

  1. Clean sign and ensure it is dry
  2. Spray with glue
  3. Pour sparkles where glue was sprayed
  4. Cover with sparkles completely
  5. Spray with sealant so sparkles won’t go everywhere

Mimosa Bar

To frame the mimosa bar we add a few decor details: printed sign, above XOXO, lightbox and a frame of the couple. We also bought a gold tablecloth off Amazon and framed it with strings of balloon. The sparkling wine was a big hit.

We encouraged guests to snap a photo and sign a guestbook for the couple. I’ll do a full post about this soon.

Let Love Grow Favours

Let Love Grow

I made these flower pot favours to match the flower theme of the DIY Pink Floral Bridal Shower. I got the seeds on Etsy and painted the pots and tied the ribbons. Video tutorial coming soon.

Items I used

Below are the actual items I used to make the bridal shower come to life. Full disclosure, if you purchase through the links I would get a small payment. But I would never recommend something I didn’t love!
