For my newly revamped blog I needed a colourful outfit to share with you. I’ve taken a break from blogging for a bit. I’ve been quite busy with real life: work, school and relationships. I was also finding it less fun because I was worrying about numbers and all sort of vanity metrics. I didn’t need another added layer of stress in my life by blogging. Instagram really does kill self-esteem sometimes.
I also didn’t love how the blog looked. So I decided instead of being self- critical and sad I could change things. Other bloggers I admire have invested more time and money into their blogs than I. So I need to do the same; time to put my best foot forward. So I’ve used this hiatus to make the blog prettier, more dynamic and organized. I switched from WordPress.com to self-hosted, so that I could have more control and use a more interesting blog theme. Please let me know what you think of it. Do you like it? Should I change anything?
For my first new blog outfit post, I needed a fun, colourful outfit post – luckily I had this one waiting to in drafts from a few months ago. The bright orange top is actually a dress I got from Primark ages ago. It is black with neon orange lace overlay and an exposed zipper in the back. Wearing it under the skirt gives it new life. The skirt I got from a Ted Baker warehouse sale and it has pockets!
I’m also on a shopping cleanse- meaning no buying clothes or anything fashion related from February- April. It being mid-April I’ve almost made the full three months. I’m also thinking I may I’ll extend it or switch to only buying secondhand for a few months. I realized I was spending money on nothing. There is so much I have already, I need to appreciate it more. I’m using this time as a way to come up with new outfits from my current wardrobe.
Outfit
Shirt: Primark (actually a dress)
