For a weekend outing my friend and I went to Louis Louis for a mimosa brunch because of the pretty marble ceiling and bottomless mimosas. There is also a very huge chocolate cake they are known for, but since it isn’t okay with my allergy let’s not even talk about that!
I love an excuse to dress up, so despite it being a rainy and dreadful day I brought my ‘A’ game. I bought this dark floral dress at a Ted Baker warehouse sale – scrambling to find my size at that sale was a great decision! Take a look at this dress I also found at the sale. The dress is form fitting and is in a scuba-like fabric. It isn’t a typical floral in the sense it isn’t bright and cheerful. The print is dark purples and spots of pink and orange – a more gothic dark floral. I like how the dress goes past the knee, I don’t have a lot of pieces that do that. I paired it with basic pointed black pumps.
The only accessory I wore was long beaded purple and pearl earrings which I call my grapevine earrings. They actually go perfectly with the dress, I made them ages ago. My safety pin purse isn’t used enough – it’s such a statement, but awkward to get through airport security. It has a gold safety pin and purple leather. I must admit I have difficulty holding clutches sometimes, I prefer a strap. It is a little hard to hold it, but we’re sitting at brunch so it’s okay.
Mimosas and Bellinis
Brunch was at Louis Louis located in the St.Regis which I recognize as the old Trump hotel. The best thing about the brunch was the bottomless mimosas/Bellinis for $25 – at a place like this it was a great value! So to me it is the Louis Louis Mimosa Brunch. Overall the prices weren’t as bad as you’d expect for being on the 31st floor.
There are two pretty photo backdrops we found here. The wall near the elevator with carnations in vases and we were a bit awkward taking photos upstairs trying to get the ceiling in the shot. The ceiling is a pinkish marble with warm light surrounding it.; it makes the room. We took 200 pictures to get these 8 – I wish I was joking.
